This is one of the most important questions because many car brands now install CNG tool kits in their cars while manufacturing, which are called company-fitted CNG cars. These cars normally cost more than petrol engine cars.

Company-Fitted CNG Kits vs Aftermarket CNG Kits
It is not that if you buy a petrol car from any company then you cannot get a CNG kit installed in it, later. But you need permission from the RTO if you want to install a CNG tool kit after buying a petrol car. Below we have mentioned some differences between company-fitted CNG kits and aftermarket CNG kits.
As most of us know in India there are only two types of CNG tool kits. The first one is called a Venturi CNG kit but this kit is very common and many people don’t like to use it anymore. Further, the Venturi kit is simple and does not have sensors or ECUs and it operates only with the throttle. The second type is a Sequential CNG kit. This is the latest kit that car manufacturers usually make use of.

Company Fitted CNG Kit Vs Aftermarket CNG Kit Disadvantages
The cost of installing a CNG tool kit later is about the same or a bit more than a company-fitted CNG kit. It’s better to pick the company-fitted CNG kit car directly from the car brand because it comes with an engine warranty. If you add the CNG kit after some time buying the car, the engine warranty will terminate.
If you add a CNG tool kit from the market and not from a government-authorized dealership, there is a chance of a scam. In addition, if the repairperson damages the engine while installing the tool kit, then the car owner has to pay for the repairs.
Company-fitted CNG kit is tested many times before installing it in the car, to make it more reliable. If you get an aftermarket CNG kit installed by a non-authorized dealer, it might be considered illegal.
